In addition to the Consolidated Billing Program, Meridian Administrators Corp. offers administrative services for employee voluntary health and dependent care flexible spending accounts and employer funded health reimbursement accounts. Meridian Administrators Corp. utilizes a prepaid Mastercard, the Bennycard, that gives participants an easy, automatic way to pay for eligible expenses. Before the prepaid benefits card became available, participants had to pay for the expense at the time of the purchase, submit a claim with all receipts and then wait for reimbursement. In essence participants paid twice, once through payroll deduction and then at the point of sale but with the Bennycard participants simply swipe the card at the time of the purchase and the funds are automatically deducted from their account. If a merchant or provider does not accept Mastercard or the participant did not use the Bennycard at the time of the purchase or service, a paper claim may always be submitted and a check will be issued to the participant.
Participants have 24/7 access to their account via the MyBenny website and can view balances and details of all transactions on the card. A toll free phone number is also available should a participant need to speak to a member of the Meridian Administrators Corp. team with questions regarding their account.
On the employer side, detailed financial reports are available throughout the plan year to assist in managing these employer sponsored plans. No details of where and what the participant’s transactions entail are contained in the reports, alleviating any possibility of any privacy violations.
